Personal Insurance - State-regulated Discounts for Massachusetts Drivers
Did you know that in the state of Massachusetts there are state regulated discounts, which can save you money on your auto insurance?
- Anti-theft Devices and Vehicle Recovery Systems: From 5 percent- 35 percent discount on your comprehensive coverage premium.
- Driver's Education Training: 10 percent discount on certain coverages for inexperienced operators who have completed a state approved driver-training course. This discount is applicable only for the first three years of a driver being licensed.
- Low Mileage: 10 percent discount for mileage less than 5,000 per year and 5 percent discount for mileage less than 7,500 per year. Discounts apply to all coverage premiums except comprehensive, substitute transportation, towing and labor (subject to vehicle eligibility).
- Multi-vehicle: 5 percent discount off collision or limited collision for experienced drivers only. Customer must have more than one car insured with the same company. (Check with your Eastern representative for restrictions.)
- Passive Restraint: 25 percent discount on bodily injury coverage for automobiles equipped with air bags and/or automatic seat belts.
- Public Transportation: 10 percent discount on certain coverages for commuting individuals using Massachusetts public transportation. Evidence of 11 months worth of passes must be presented to your agent. The maximum dollar discount allowed is $75.
- Safe Driver Insurance Plan: A premium discount is given on certain coverages if a person's past six years of driving history has no at-fault accidents, moving violations, and citations.
- Senior Citizen: 25 percent discount on the annual premium if the primary operator is 65 years of age or older. This discount would not apply if the vehicle is being used for business or if an inexperienced operator is listed on the policy.
