The IRS just issued Notice 2016-4 which delays the reporting due dates for ACA returns. This is a very welcome gift for many employer groups that do not feel ready to process their 2015 ACA returns.

Employee Forms
Forms 1095-C must now be provided to full time employees by no later than: 3/31/2016

IRS Transmittal & Copies of Employee Forms
Employers filing manually must now file their forms with the IRS by no later than: 5/31/2016

Employers filing electronically must now file their forms with the IRS by no later than: 6/30/2016

The IRS is still encouraging employers to file sooner if their forms are ready. Lastly, the notice also provides guidance to individuals who might not receive their forms by the time they file their 2015 tax returns.
