We are excited to feature Eastern Benefits Group’s client, Gentle Giant, in this month’s #EIGSpotlight.

At Eastern Insurance Group and Eastern Benefits Group, we are committed to improving the communities we serve. That’s why we’re thrilled to hear when our clients, like Gentle Giant, go above and beyond to #JoinUsForGood.

Gentle Giant is a full-service moving company offering local and long distance moving services, storage facilities, packing and unpacking services, and moving box delivery.

Gentle Giant’s mission is to have a “Giant heart”; to be a positive member of the communities they serve in 15 cities across the country. When Hurricane Harvey struck Houston, the Gentle Giant team in Boston participated in the City of Boston donation drive for Hurricane Harvey by loading trucks with donated supplies for victims to be delivered to Houston. Two of their Giants personally drove one of the trucks, loaded with over 60,000 pounds of donated clothing and hygiene supplies from the people of Boston, down to Houston. The Gentle Giant team also gathered school supplies for those affected by Hurricane Harvey, which they donated at Boston’s charity concert on September 9th at City Hall Plaza.

In addition to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, Gentle Giant started a national partnership in 2016 with Move for Hunger, a non-profit organization that collects non-perishable food items and works with relocation companies to deliver them to food banks across North America. Through this partnership, Gentle Giant is able to help their customers donate canned food to individuals and families in need by simply explaining the program before a move and leaving an empty box with the resident. Gentle Giant then collects these donation boxes and transports them to food banks at no charge. Since 2016, Gentle Giant has donated over 56,000 lbs of food, which is roughly 47,000 meals.

We’re very proud to work with Gentle Giant and to showcase the incredible work they are doing on a daily basis to help people in need. They are a true example of what it means to #JoinUsForGood.
