We are pleased to announce this month’s #EIGSpotlight, Heather LeMay. Heather is always first to take on a challenge within our organization, from helping her clients understand their policies on a deeper level, to going out of her way for her fellow colleagues, or even learning an entirely new division of insurance, her genuine enthusiasm for her job has made her September’s #EIGSpotlight.

Heather LeMay recently transitioned from a Personal Lines Account Manager to a Sales and Services Assistant for the Commercial Lines Franchise Division. The Eastern Insurance Franchise Division works with franchise owners representing large national chains, such as Dunkin’ Donuts and Wendy’s, as well as local establishments with multiple locations, to insure their unique exposures. Despite spending most of her professional career in Personal Lines, Heather has dived head-first into what she describes as a new and exciting opportunity.

Her positive attitude is already being felt in her new department.

“Heather has only been working with the franchise division for about a month now, but I can already see she is a great asset,” said Leeanne Gendron, Assistant Vice President and Team Leader of the Franchise Division. “Anything that has been sent her way she has picked right up on. She is conscientious, courteous, and great with not only the customers but her coworkers.”

Leeanne isn’t the only person at Eastern Insurance that thinks Heather is great at her job, her co-workers do too! In fact, in 2018 Heather has received more Good Job Awards (an internal, formal way for Eastern Insurance employees to recognize their colleagues for going beyond expectations) than almost anybody in Eastern Insurance!

If it’s not clear yet, Heather truly has a passion for insurance, a career in which she started merely by chance after applying for a position with Commerce Insurance in her hometown. She even shares this passion with her friends by helping to educate them about their insurance policies to avoid a future problem.

“I’m in my early 30s, so many of my friends felt comfortable buying inexpensive insurance online for a low price when they were younger. Now that many of them have nicer cars, homes, and families, I always ask them if I can review their policies! Often, they don’t fully realize what they have purchased since they didn’t have any guidance, and they can be severely underinsured. I like to review with them what they do have, what it means, and what they should have to make sure the lives they’ve worked so hard for are properly protected.”

When Heather isn’t at work or helping her friends, she can be found at continuing education classes, or enjoying herself by attending concerts, traveling, or camping in New Hampshire and Maine.

On behalf of the entire Eastern Insurance team, we would like to thank Heather for all the good she has done for our organization and her clients. In the words of Leeanne Gendron, “Look out Eastern Insurance – Heather LeMay is going places!”
